My Design:
On this page you will see pictures of three lighting designs for my set model, each corresponding to a different scene from Fury. There are also reference images from the 2014 film.
For my first lighting design, I wanted a baseline look, one that fit the traveling scenes from the movie, which mostly take place during the day. I used blue and yellow in order to achieve that look, with a spotlight on the tank so that the actors and main set piece can be seen easily. Throughout these scenes I also lit the screen columns to make them look as if they were actual screens.

For my second lighting design I wanted to focus on the final battle of the movie, which is the most chaotic scene of the film. The scene takes place at night, only lit by the fire of a nearby house burning down. I decided to use a more red-orange look to enhance the hostility of the scene, as the main characters attempt to fight back an entire German SS Battalion.

The third scene I chose was the final scene of the movie, where the only survivor of the climatic battle, Norman, emerges from underneath Fury. This scene carries a melancholy tone through both its score and colors used on screen. To convey the emotional nature of the scene, I chose to use a more stylized, deeper blue.
